Captain is a 13 year old, 17.0 Hand grade Chestnut gelding with good training and a wonderful disposition. He is a husband horse deluxe. Well trained and user friendly to ride and be around. In the arena he collects up well, has a nice smooth jog, lopes out on cue and always takes the correct lead. Neck reins or direct reins. Rides both English and western. Very easy to sit and comfortable lope as well. Captain has been used for lower level dressage and has had some experience jumping smaller fences. He is very solid and confident to ride out anywhere from our busy neighborhood streets to our rugged mountain trails. In the urban environment Captain is unconcerned about all that we encounter. From fast passing vehicles of every kind to the local farm animals, bicycles, and all the strange things we ride past that have been put out on the curb in our neighborhood. Captain takes all that we ride past in stride as if it’s just another day at the office. He is equally solid to ride out on the trails. Crosses down timber the trail bridge, water, crossings, and navigates are steep and rocky terrain very well. He will lead, follow and ride respectfully in a group or out on his own. This is a cool horse with a kind and gentle disposition. He has no vices and is a pleasure to ride and be around. This one would fit a lot of folks really well as he is very easy to work with and is very smooth traveling to ride. He is out of registered stock however we did not get his papers but we do have his registered name, number and breeding. Never been raced. Probably too slow! Safe, sane and sound.
