If you’re looking for quiet, safe, and bombproof then you need to take a look at Tar! Tar is 6 years old, Friesian/Welsh Cross that stands 14hh. Tar has the mind and disposition of a 20 year old horse. He is calm, gentle, and one you can throw anyone on! He is more whoa than go which makes him great for the beginner riders and timid kids. Tar rides both English and western in any bit or with just a halter and lead rope. He has a lovely trot and rocking-horse type canter. His transitions both upwards and downwards are great! Say the word “whoa” and tar comes to a stop. This summer Tar was used in our lesson program teaching riders of all ages, sizes, and abilities! He also worked in several of our horse camps giving lessons, bareback rides, standing to be painted, and other fun activities. Tar has been lightly started over fences, and can jump around a course with flying changes. Tar has been jumping anywhere from cross-poles to 2’3”. Tar joined us at a 4H horse show and competed in showmanship, huntseat, western, trail, and some gymkhana classes! Tar truly is the definition of an all-around pony! He can and will do anything you ask of him!
