Cornelius is a 4 year old 1/2 Friesian 1/4 Percheron 1/4 Quarter Horse gelding standing 16 hands high. “Corn Dog” is a talented, good minded, young horse with a solid foundation and bright future ahead of him! He is an old soul with a great brain. Corn Dog is a natural when it comes to dressage and Working Equitation type of riding. It will be easy to bring up the levels. He is also trick trained, and will sit, lay down, and step up onto podiums! Take him to the show ring, hit the trails, or just enjoy his sweet personality in the barn.
In the ring, Cornelius has a great foundation for any discipline. He listens well to seat and leg cues, and will ride round on the bit, or on a loose rein. He is very well educated with lateral work. This guy could easily do some working equitation or ranch/trail classes in the future! He is forward thinking, but not hot or sensitive. He has the right amount of motor for dressage work, while still being amateur friendly and understanding of rider error. Though he is young, he is very safe and reliable. He doesn’t need to be ridden or schooled every day, and is the same if ridden once, or five days a week. He has been started over small fences in the ring, and has been introduced to logs, coupes, water, and other small fences out xc and in the field.
On the trails and off property, Cornelius is quiet and safe. He is brave and will cross any obstacle you point him at. He rides alone or in a group, and loves to go on hunter paces. He is used to hounds, ATV’s, traffic, goats, and cattle. Corn Dog is a load up and go type. He is the same on or off property, and has been great on paces, xc schooling, and other off property trips. He has been to some clinics and local schooling shows and did not care one bit about what was going on around him.
In the barn, Cornelius is polite and gentle. The kids can climb on, around, and under him safely. He has a kind personality, and enjoys human company. He is a good boy to be groomed, clipped, bathed, and tacked. He has the best personality, and everyone who meets him falls in love! He is happy living inside or out, and is easy to get along with. He stands for the vet and farrier, and has no quirks or vices.
